The Far North Resilient Communities

Supporting and Building Resilient Communities in the Far North

Local Communities Working Together

We share a vision of a thriving Far North, where local communities are resilient, sustainable and prosperous.

Food Abundance

Food: affordable fresh healthy food, grown and available locally.

The Kai – Food Action Plan is our current working plan, it details some of the initiatives and projects underway.

Housing

Housing: sustainable and affordable healthy homes available for all.

Education

Skilled and practical people able to provide for themselves.

Environment

Respecting our water, earth and sky so it remains safe and healthy for future generations, managing our natural resources wisely and caring for wildlife responsibly.

Local Economy

Enhancing the economy of the Far North by encouraging new working opportunities for all.

Community

Creating caring communities where everyone is valued and respected.

Old Packhouse Market Hub

The Old Packhouse Market is where the Far North gathers to share food, music, stories, and connection, and a place visitors come to experience the spirit of our region. It’s where local growers, makers, and families meet, and where many small livelihoods have quietly taken root. Now, the future of this much-loved place is uncertain. — We want to see this special iconic place in community ownership to ensure its future is secure.
